We are very pleased to announce that Jordan Ohl joined the Engrained team as Sous Chef earlier this year. He has already made significant contributions to our menu and culture. If you haven't tried one of Chef Jordan's specials yet, you need to visit us soon!

Jordan started his career at Newell House in Carbondale, where his passion for food grew into serious skill in the kitchen. He came to Springfield shortly after finishing college and worked at Public House 29. From there, Jordan moved on to Augie's Front Burner, where he says he learned "a lot about plating techniques and simplicity among big flavors." Demonstrating his talent and reliability, Jordan soon became a lead chef at Augie's.
Jordan developed an interest in the farm to table food philosophy, and was excited to hear about the opportunity at Engrained. He felt that Engrained would be his new home after his initial interview. "The restaurant and crew have a philosophy that aligned with mine, and I was ready to get deeply involved with farm to fork cuisine. When you have local, fresh products, the quality of the food is higher, and we can control the quality when it starts at the soil. That’s exactly what Brent and his team are doing, going straight to the farms."
Welcome Jordan to the Engrained family!
